  Ours was a relatively small job, replacing the site of a former greenhouse and raised beds with lawn instead. The team worked with such enthusiasm and the end result was perfect. I'm already planning my next project for then!

  Urban Earth recently replaced a large area of decking and patio. We are really pleased with the final result and were impressed by all of the team who were very friendly, polite and hardworking – we actually miss them all! Some aspects of the job were quite challenging but invariably much thought was given to the best way of overcoming each particular issue and it is difficult to imagine anyone else doing a better job; the men were craftsmen not just workmen. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Urban Earth.

  I can’t recommend Urban Earth enough – they’ve just finished garden works for me and the whole experience has been brilliant from start to finish. Honestly, it’s a solid five-star review from me.

  What really stood out was how well they managed the site. You always expect a bit of disruption with landscaping, but the team kept everything neat and tidy every single day.   Both my front and rear gardens had become unmanageable due largely to what I had planted 37 years ago. Also the driveway was breaking up. Urban Earth collaborated with me to create new gardens and driveway in a manner that dealt with the sloping ground and increasing drainage problems.The result is a cohesive garden and driveway on 3 sides of the house using beautiful materials and with rich planting with an interesting interplay of surfaces and levels .An excellent result.

  I first approached Urban Earth in 2017 for garden landscaping work comprising large areas of mainly high end paving and decking for which they won an open tender, submitted with impressive constructive advice and recommendations. The entire project was well executed, as was the comprehensive site clearance and cleaning on completion. I have since employed them on three occasions for a drainage and construction project and two further decking installations – the most recent having been completed today, each undertaken with the same dedication and professionalism.

  We needed our driveway entrance widened. Sounds straight forward enough but it involved removing an existing 2m high pillar and 1.6m of 2m high wall. The wall and pillar were both rendered and built from brick on a base of cobble stone. Furthermore an open brook ran alongside the wall and this was adjacent to the highway. There was also an old concrete bridge over the brook into our drive and this also had to be removed and a new and much stronger one installed.   copping stones more fitting with the conservation area in which we live.In addition some plaques on the inside of the wall needed to be removed and relocated due to the reduction in the length of the wall. We had concerns that these plaques might not withstand the relocation but they were carefully and expertly handled by H and Trev.The Urban Earth quotation was detailed and very competitive. Phil was also very flexible and understanding in our initial concerns regarding the proximity of the open brook and the highway to the area where the work was to be carried out. The Urban Earth team was H and Trev and they were professional, clearly very skilled, polite, arrived when they said they would and kept the site tidy and organised. There were a few matters that arose during the project but they consulted us when there were any decisions to be made. The end result is a widened entrance, a significantly improved bridge across the brook and a much improved appearance overall. We received many compliments regarding the quality of the work that was carried out, both during the works and when the project was completed.I would happily recommend Urban Earth and would use them again for any other projects that we have.

  entered into the spirit of the project – one of his early and shrewd decisions was to involve a designer called Mike Batt, of Creo Gardens. We subsequently met with he and Phil, and the combination of Mike’s thoughtful interpretation of our suggestions and Phil’s creativity, particularly in suggesting sympathetic hard landscaping, was fundamental in making the project a success.Almost inevitably, our joint enthusiasm was tempered by financial constraints, but, ever mindful of the words of Sir Henry Royce that “the quality remains, long after the price has been forgotten”, a mutually agreed specification was developed. Phil’s next shrewd decision was to convince us that the existing dark stone patio, although serviceable, could not be retained and should be replaced with Bradstone products, in keeping with the rest of the specification. Having used Bradstone on previous, albeit much smaller, home and garden projects, we did not need convincing of its appeal and, somewhat to our own surprise, we agreed to replace the entire patio.The choice of Bradstone products suggested by Phil and Mike was first class and,with the aid of the excellent marketing materials from Bradstone, we decided on a small number of colours and textures that could be repeated both outside, in the garden and inside, as part of the re-furbished workshop.The group from Urban Earth (and their appointed contractors for various specialist works such as electrics and provision of plants and a water feature) who subsequently undertook the construction and installation work was pretty much everything one could expect from a first class construction team. They got on with the job and only asked for guidance and decisions from us when their combined experience led them to believe that they were necessary – they were a pleasure to work with and had an attention to detail that was much appreciated.Not to be outdone, the administration team at the Urban Earth office provided prompt, helpful and detailed information to ensure that the finances were kept on track and that there were “no surprises”.The project completed in November 2017 and the combination of thoughtful design, exceptional quality materials and diligent construction has produced a result with which we are delighted.

Urban Earth also carried out the heavier elements of the planting.Urban Earth were expertly able to interpret Dorothy’s design, source the materials and carry out the work during September. They were able to cut the paving accurately so as to achieve the continually curving arrangement of the paths and patios. The pond was edged with locally sourced Tavistock Slate, which again blended in well with the landscape.The Urban Earth workforce was personable and cheerful and they were at great pains to accommodate their client’s wishes.The project was satisfactorily completed in early October and the garden has proved to be excellent both for wheelchair use and for gardening.   Sept 2014.This is the second garden project which Urban Earth have done for us now and on both occasions we have been delighted with the job.Phil and his team are polite, punctual and tidy in their work. They cope well with tricky challenges to create a superb result. At the end of each working day the site is left clean and tidy. The completed job has definitely exceeded our expectations and is now a garden we are thrilled with.

  Urban Earth undertook a tricky contract for the rebuilding of an old existing garden serving 4 Alms Houses for the St Petrock’s and Heavitree Parish Lands Charity whilst the Residents remained in occupation. They performed exceptionally well under minimal supervision as there was a fair amount of ‘line and level’ interpretation.The end result was excellent, and the Trust would not hesitate in recommending them for similar work.

  Wow!! What can I say……we are absolutely thrilled to bits with our new front garden!!   Was looking to have back garden have complete makeover , had a few quotes from various firms Urban Earth were a little bit more but never tried to turn the project to make it easier for them . The Gang were a complete pleasure to have working in back garden and very good at what they do ,they even give you ideas and will give you input in a nice way , they are perfectionist in what they do and “H” the foreman will not take short cuts nor will any of the lads ….   They work tidy and are punctual , the actual project involved all aspects of landscaping and I can not fault any of it . The lads enjoy a cup of tea and the wife’s homemade cakes and my spicy noodles . The first part of the project was just after Christmas the weather was foul and the back garden looked like a scene from the Somme but they cracked on regardless they are a credit to Phil . In some ways it was sad to see the project finish because they were like mates but the new garden is testament to their professionalism ………Well done Urban Earth

  From Phil Yolland’s initial visit and consultation, which was prompt, to the completion of the project to remove a rockery, install a 75 square metre patio and landscaping our garden; we were impressed by the standard of work and delighted at the results, which have transformed our garden. Phil’s workforce, led by ‘H’ were professional, hardworking and thoroughly personable; as well as being capable of consuming industrial quantities of tea, coffee and biscuits!
