  We recently had Sean and his team at SV Carpentry come to our home to remove an internal wall and lay a new floor, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From the start, Sean was fantastic—he responded quickly with a detailed quote and took the time to walk us through every aspect of the job. Sean was incredibly helpful—he pointed us in the right direction to explore new options and was really flexible about coming back to lay the floor once we had chosen. Mat did a fantastic job with the installation, and the finished floor looks even better than we could have expected.Throughout the project, Sean and his team were outstanding. They turned up on time every day, the quality of work was excellent and they made sure everything was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. Every member of the team was friendly, helpful, and easy to have around the house, which made the whole process stress-free and smooth. The attention to detail was excellent, and it really shows in the final result.Sean also coordinated all the necessary electrical and plumbing work, which took a huge load off our shoulders. It was great to have someone so reliable managing everything.We’re planning more home improvements in the future, and we wouldn’t consider going to anyone else—Sean will definitely be our first call.   Laying a click-lock floor should be simple – but.Sometimes it is best to get a professional involved.After the usual preamble of setting dates and obtaining quote the job went to S.V. Carpentry because they were the only contractor that would remove the old carpet and dispose of it because they are licenced to deal with Trade Waste and the local authority tip. (This is an important point and needs to be underlined.)Once the requisite tooth sucking and intake of breath had been made and the compromises agreed the work started. Old carpet taken up folded and bagged. Floor swept and… [read more]aged chipboard removed as expected in a house 200 years old lots of ‘naughtiness’ was revealed. As perpetrated by previous occupants and amateur restoration artistes.Meanwhile in the airing cupboard some new slatted shelves were being installed.Back at the floor with the basics of the new floor worked out and the expected compromises reached the installation could be started. Except that going home time had arrived along with the desire to go for a long stand and wait at the wood merchants.Day TwoThe Guys returned refreshed and made a start on the click lock flooring and its underlay.A request for an obscure piece of timber for the door thresholds was met and inspite of an wallet emptying price cut to size and installed.Once the lie of the flooring was established the installation went ahead at a good speed and by mid-afternoon the final clearing up dusting down and satisfaction check had been made the job was finished.I have nothing but praise for a job well done, the cleanliness of the workspace and the speed of execution. The fact that the old floor was uneven and required extra work to make level for the flooring it was to receive was more of an irritation than a problem.Would I employ SV Carpetry again yes. I kept the second half of expensive timber to provide a new threshold to frame the new floor.

  My go to company for all things carpentry related! Sean and his team are excellent. Technical experts, friendly, tidy as they go and reliable. I’ve used SV a few times now, and also recommended them to my mum who is equally impressed.I do not hesitate to recommend.

  I’d like to recommend Mat Hutchings @ HPS Property Maintenance in your local guide.He’s worked for us before but he has just decorated our four bedrooms to a very high standard and within a very tight time schedule. He worked hard and carefully every day to ensure the job was completed in time for us. He always takes genuine pride in his work and was able to make really useful suggestions to improve on our specifications. He is prompt, reliable and trustworthy. Brilliant!

  Mat turned a tired dated damaged kitchen into a bright, fully restored one. How he achieved this was due to his skill and determination . All the work was executed with minimal disruption and on completion left after clearing the whole working area. On this work would fully recommend Mat and would use his services again.

  Contacted HPS through this website, Very nice chaps came to give me a quote 24hours later and did the job on the spot. very good work and well worth knowing they do all sorts of household jobs.. Will recommend them to everyone…

  HPS Property Maiintenance (Matt) took down, planed and rehung a heavy door (no job too small). He was friendly, professional and charged a very reasonable price. I was impressed and I immediately asked him to look at a much bigger job to be undertaken in the new year.
