As usual, Mark and his team have helped us out in a mini crisis, caused this time by blocked guttering and torrential rain, resulting in a worrying water leak. Quick, efficient and reassuring, everything was put right with a smile.Great to have Mark around in an emergency, and definitely worth waiting for in any other situation.

I had a roofing job done by MFS Builders some time ago (to repair a leak on the on the inside). I didn’t recommend them at the time because I wanted to see that the thing they did worked fine, and it has. Brilliant – I’d recommend them in a flash if anyone wants something done to their roof.

We had to wait a while because Mark and team are so busy but when they arrived the work was excellent, not just repairing the damaged area we knew about but checking the whole roof, repairing and renewing where needed and cleaning out all the gutters and gullies. Our house is high, but all this was done safely but without scaffolding. Highly recommended.

I was very pleased with the work done by MFS and I would recommend them to anybody. They did a lot of work on my roof, including removing a chimney. They matched all the tiles so you can’t see there had previously been a chimney. I am absolutely delighted. They cleared up very well, too.

Mark and his friendly, hard-working team have done an amazing job on the outside of our house, which needed a lot of care and attention. Over the last three weeks they have worked long hours through some very wet weather to repair, restore and decorate to a superb standard in double quick time, within tight traffic management limitations. We could not be happier with the service provided and the stunning results.

Brilliant! We are selling our house and needed some weeds removed that were growing from the roof. Mark was available soon after our enquiry. He highlighted other ‘quick wins’ he could achieve while the ladders were in place – including a missing tile that we hadn’t noticed. They performed the work quickly and without any fuss, in their usual friendly and professional manner.

We were due to complete on our house sale on the Monday. But on the Friday morning before we discover water ingress through our first floor ceiling. Within 90 minutes of calling MFS for help they arrived, searched the loft space to locate the point of water ingress, climbed on the roof, inspected it and located a cracked roof tile. An hour later they returned from their yard with an exact replacement which they fitted. Result! They were prompt, efficient and a great bunch of lads. Can’t give them enough credit.

See my previous review. Mark continues to provide a first class reliable service. At short notice he cleared the gutters and identified the problem. I have a small dormer which was damaged last March in the storms. The wind ripped the lead roof right back. I left a message with them – and they got straight back to me and carried out emergency repairs by lunchtime the next day.They explained what was happening up there, and what they had done as a repair.I have now had the dormer re-roofed, and they made a very good job of it. They were friendly, efficient and cleaned up beautifully afterwards. I would be happy to recommend them to anybody.

After the horrendous storms last week I had an end ridge tile hanging off the roof in a state of panic I rang Mark on a Saturday morning. The weather was horrible with high winds and driving rain but within the hour Mark came round and made the ridge tile safe.The following week Mark and his associate came round to complete a secure fix of the ridge tile and another broken tile. Called MFS at 4pm yesterday as we had a fairly significant leak from our conservatory roof. Mark turned up within the hour. This morning his guys came and by 1pm they had fixed the leak. Fantastic service. Polite, tidy, professional. An amazing response. We will certainly use again.

I had a leak, so did my daughter. Mark came to do a temporary fix for my daughter (and didn’t charge her due to her circumstances at the time).His workmen are so loyal, kind, caring, clean and tidy.Mark did two jobs for me and invoiced me for both in one. Mark Small is the man! I thoroughly recommend him to anyone. He repaired a soakaway which had been poorly installed by another local builder who had cut corners. He took the lawn up, dug a long, deep trench which was filled with stones and drainage, then replaced everything. They put the lawn back and you can’t even see where they’ve been. He’s definitely my first choice of builder from now on.

Mark did up old house for us. He talked us through every stage. Sometimes it was not easy accepting things were in a worse state of repair than we thought but on inspection it always checked out.Mark is helpful and explains things very well so you understand what is going on. To be honest I have learnt so much from discussions with him on jobs that I feel fairly confident I can spot problems myself before they become to big a disaster these days.

We contacted MFS before we moved into our home, having previously lived in the Midlands and not knowing local builders. Mark gave us advice before we moved in and he and his colleagues moved in to start work almost on the day we moved it – as we wished. There were a variety of jobs, beginning with the roof, and including work on several rooms. This latter work entailed skilled plumbing, electrical, carpentery and plastering. Mark arranged for the various tradesmen to call and the whole operation ran like a military operation. Mark kept us fully informed of progress at… [read more]each stage. The work was done to a high quality, with minimum dirt and disturbance to the rest of the house, by personable tradespeople plus Mark’s own colleagues. The price for the total work (which had expanded considerably since Mark first visited the house as we requested additional work to be undertaken) was less than I had expected. We cannot speak too highly of this company which is returning later in the year for pointing and external painting.

Mark first came to us during the Christmas holiday. He climbed onto our roof in foul weather and soon resolved our problem. Recently he came to repair our garage roof. I have no hesitation in recommending Mark and his boys for their professionalism and politeness. All work is thoroughly explained and completed with minimum fuss. I wouldn’t look for a roofing expert anywhere else!

He took photos of the damage he found and of the repairs he did so that I could be happy with things and have evidence for my insurance claim for storm damage. He uses cushions under his roof ladders to ensure that there is no further damage to the roof.

Having found ourselves the landing site for a couple of seagulls, Mark ‘MFS’ was called to assist. Fortunately the birds had only just finished their building work and their cement was not quite hard. With his thoughts on being dive-bombed he ventured to the chimney stack, removing their recently installed nest and installed our kind of nesting defences. We would recommend Mark Fayter-Small to anyone looking for a good honest down to earth roofing company at an affordable price. MFS resolved our problem ingeniously, and saved us a potential bill running into thousands of pounds had we not got them in first. Mark secured our roof mounted solar panels with tailor made bracket and anchorage to keep it tight and secure. Prior to MFS arrival we suffered sleepless nights disturbed by loud vibration noise when it was windy. Now it is lovely and quiet, we are genuinely delighted.

It’s always a worry when you’re using someone on your roof, because you can’t see what they’re up to, but Mark kept us informed throughout, and even showed us the parts he was replacing.
