Phil went into hospital when the work started- which is a shame as `I guess he is the driving force of the business.Finishing of the in house plastering was not good, finishing of new door and frames not good and the plumber . . . . .had a cavalier attitude to customer service and installation standards .I would not say ‘very poor’ but more accurately very disappointed.
We contacted Phil Jones from Lifestyle Services about the feedback here.
Phil is now back at work and is again able to keep his eye on all work delivered under his name.
Phil agreed that the plumber’s work was unsatisfactory and arranged for an alternative tradesperson to correct the work to the customer’s satisfaction.
Phil was not aware that the customer wasn’t happy with the finish of the plastering or the door frames. Phil was there when the customer signed off and paid for the work – and was surprised to learn of the customer’s dissatisfaction on these matters only now at this later stage. Phil has offered to revisit the customer to put these matters right, but the customer just wants to move on.
We always encourage customers to tell a tradesperson directly if they are not happy with the work performed – this gives the tradesperson a chance to resolve the matter at the time of the issue, to the customer’s satisfaction. Sometimes it is how a business reacts to a complaint that shows the level of service they provide. On this occasion all feedback from the customer was further complicated by the business owner’s stay in hospital and subsequent convalescence.
We have used Lifestyle Services ourselves and always been happy with the work they provide, also using other trades Phil has introduced us to. I would feel comfortable and confident discussing any problems directly with such an open, honest and friendly man. I have so much confidence in his service that I recommended him to my own father. Lifestyle Services have featured in OurLocalExpert since we first published over 10 years ago. In that time we have only received one other piece of negative feedback about them – for a missed appointment.
We are disappointed to learn of this customer’s experience with Lifestyle Services, but based on our own experience of them we are happy to continue to feature them in our guide of recommended local businesses.

We are delighted with the range of work that Phil has completed for us. Installing a pair of internal glazed doors, replacing a misted double glazed window, replacing 2 panes of glass in other internal doors and fitting a new lock. In all instances Phil provided helpful advice to help us find the most appropriate and cost-effective solution for what we wanted. Phil was even able to leave my husband with a few simple jobs he could tackle himself rather than pay for.Cheerful, good communication, easy going and a pleasure to have around the house.

Phil and his team did an excellent job. I needed a new kitchen installed which required some additional building work as well. Everything was done to a high standard within the agreed timescales and cost. My room offered some challenges (wonky walls and dodgy ceiling), plus I managed to order the wrong size cupboard, but Phil just got it all sorted – thank you! I am very pleased with the end result and would highly recommend Lifestyle Installations.

A true professional approach. Competitive price, quality replacement windows, punctual, nothing was too much trouble for Phil and his team. All rubbish cleared away on completion. Thoroughly recommended.

Particular praise needs to go Lifestyle installations – Phil Jones of Exmouth. Anything he can do, I don’t bother getting a quote anywhere else, just go to him. He is efficient, reliable, polite and does an excellent job.
