  Lewis was recommended to me by a neighbour and I was, with hindsight, very lucky to have him build my extension. He was extremely helpful, suggesting alternative approaches that saved money without compromising the build, he has an excellent work ethic – works really hard and aims for the best result at all tunes and is friendly, approachable and trustworthy. He did a brilliant job, made it as easy as possible for me- I was living in the property while the build was going on – and even helped me with some smaller jobs that weren’t related to… [read more]the build.   Lewis and his team did an excellent job of building an extension to provide an additional bedroom, ensuite, laundry and boot room, plus extending our dining room. So happy with the end result, and if adjustments were needed to the original plan along the way, Louey was happy to problem solve and chat through the options and keep me updated of any additional costs so there was no hidden nasties at the end!   Choosing a builder can be a tricky business but we landed on our feet when we chose Headon Construction. Lewis and his team recently built us a timber garage and garden shed and made some pathways in the garden. Lewis runs a very professional business and expects high standards from his workers.   Headon Construction built a studio for me above my garage. The work was carried out well, the lads were all extremely polite and any queries or worries dealt with immediately.   Lewis and his team have been working with us on and off since July 2019 since he undertook our sizeable house extension. His estimate for the work was very competitive and he came in exactly on budget. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Lewis and the boys. They are friendly and polite and extremely hard working. Lewis was always amenable to our last minute changes and came up with several cost effective ideas himself.   Lewis and his team undertook an extension to our 1800s converted stone barn during the first half of 2020.His approach has been faultless and highly competent from start to finish. When tendering, he asked pertinent, insightful questions, and his quote was competitive. He had worked with us to gain Conservation approval for the materials we were looking to use, managing to accommodate delays on that front. The team were polite, hard-working and proficient, and were easy to talk with. Where problems arose, he worked through or round them with a good blend of pragmatism and imagination. He used subcontractors for his electrical and plumbing work, and that worked well. We had windows provided by a separate company, and that did cause some delays, but he managed to dovetail work on our project and others round them. The same applied for the kitchen company who were providing a new kitchen – they also had delays that affected completion of the extension. They worked well with both suppliers.We are delighted with the end result of the works, particularly given the nature of life in 2020. We would thoroughly recommend Lewis and his team.

  We were looking for someone to build a substantial retaining boundary wall using oak sleepers which meant first digging away part of a bank and taking out a large tree. Lewis provided a competitive quote and started on the agreed date, worked hard and even finished the job a day early.   JOB: 83 Square metre sandstone patio.East Devon is awash with builders and choosing one can be a nightmare. Either they are too busy, or are not interested and inflate their prices knowing that some clients will pay anyway. Lewis is different. He is sub VAT level, does not over inflate his quote, he always turns up on time, he works hard and fast, and reassuringly, he always answers calls, texts, emails, and whatsapps, promptly.   During the re-rendering of our house we discovered all our concrete lintels had decayed and urgently needed replacing. Having removed the old render the clock was ticking. We tried several local builders – some came and looked, but never got back to us, others either didn’t call back or were simply too busy. Lewis was recommended to us by one of our clients, I phoned him and he responded straight away, he turned up and agreed a price there and then and booked a prompt start date. Initially he had arranged for two of them to do it in three… [read more]days, then I got an unexpected phone call from Lewis, in my head I started to panic that he might be calling to cancel, but I needn’t have worried as he was actually calling to ask if it was OK if he could come earlier and for three of them to do it in two days. Lewis communication is first class, he is easy to get along with, he knows his trade well, he turned up when he said he would. Lewis and his team arrived early each morning and worked furiously with few breaks to get the job done, they were polite and kept us informed throughout the work.   Extensive 10 year old rotten timber retaining walls, compost bins and steps needed replacing.   Theo fenced in an area of our garden so it can be our vegetable plot (keeping out the rabbits). It’s a good, sturdy fence. He also cleared the ground, built and filled raised beds and put down weed suppressant material and wood chippings. All the work was done in just over three days and his quote for the work was very reasonable. Theo was really helpful with thinking about the size of the plot and the raised beds and how to be cost efficient with materials.   Lyme Bay Landscapes were quick to give a quotation for a landscape job in my garden, It involved the removal of three trees and roots, rebuilding a low retaining wall, removing old membrane and waste soil. New top soil, membrane and gravel were laid.The company completed the work in August 2015. They worked quickly and efficiently using a small digging machine, a waste removal skip and two persons.
