  Alastair replaced a integrated Fridge Freezer for me, he was recommended by Howdens. Alastair had to completely rework the Fridge Freezer recess, work above and beyond what was envisaged. Alastair's level of skill and expertise is quite outstanding, and his degree of attention to detail is exactly what any customer would wish for.

  The finished job was just perfect and I am extremely happy to endorse a huge recommendation for AJTCarpentry, absolutely richly deserved.

  Alastair fitted my kitchen, new front door and shelving.He is prompt, polite, respectful of my property and pays attention to the finer details. His work has consistently been of an exceptionally high standard and even my neighbours have commented on how thorough his work has been.   We recently had a water leak which resulted in some internal damage. We called in Alistair to carry out some necessary repair work having used him several years ago for various jobs.   Alastair was easy to initially contact via both email and phone and was also flexible. He is clearly an accomplished carpenter. We used him to for some oak kitchen worktops which was an awkward job. He was really knowledgeable and great to talk to about options. The result was excellent and we were very happy with it. He came quickly following our initial approach to look at the job, he discussed with us how he would approach the job and provided a careful, detailed quote.   Alastair did an exceptional job in building a partition wall and door frame (inc fitting the door), renovating our understairs cupboard including adding in a draw and refitting a stair banistair and spindles to make it higher.He worked very hard the whole time he was here, completing work to a very high standard, taking pride in his workmanship. He was very friendly and easy to talk too about the project. We would not hesitate in recommending him and will be sure to use him again for any future carpentry projects.

  Alastair fitted an oak engineered floor and replaced our internal doors with oak ones. He was very professional and his craftsmanship is a very high standard. He cleaned up regularly and was very pleasant and helpful, especially helping to move a heavy upright piano.   We needed some pipes to be boxed off in our bathroom and also a new cupboard with shelves to be put in a corner where a shower used to be, as well as some other bits and pieces. Alastair has completed all work to a very high standard with meticulous attention to detail. We are having him back to do another job at the end of this month and no doubt some further work in 2016.   Alastair installed new worktops in our kitchen together with an alteration to an existing cupboard to house a tabletop dishwasher, along with new side panels and matching plinths where required. We found him very professional in his work,cleaning and tidying up as he went. Arrived at the time he specified and very helpful with advice on what would work best with the ideas we had in mind.   Having an old house with uneven character walls, we knew that any new cupboards and kitchen worktops would have to be bespoke. We thought oak would certainly be a big improvement, but AJT Carpentry surpassed our expectations by miles, his attention to details and making even the most awkward spaces look symmetrical and in keeping with one another was extremely impressive. He made rounded edges and rail to finish all the edges and take off any harsh modern lines, so that the beautiful wood seemed to organically attach to the cob walls as if they were meant for each other…. [read more]All in all, we would describe the transformation as a work of art. It’s a real skill and craft to create beautiful spaces that are really useful, especially inside the variable parameters of individual houses. A nice guy and easy to get along with too. Wonderful work and we can’t recommend him too highly.

  AJT Carpentry installed some extra kitchen cupboards for me. As the existing wall cupboards were a non-standard size, Alistair modified some commercial cupboards to fit and made simple, but effective doors. The work was done carefully and professionally with minimum disruption. I am very pleased with the result, which was at a very affordable price. I feel as though I have had a new kitchen installed at a fraction of the price. AJT can be well recommended.
